A Wondorous Weekend

Here we are waiting for Sunny to try on a few more clothes. It's a good thing we are all used to Sunny trying on everything 2 or 3 times and then not buying much.

Macy's is ready for Christmas. There were not that many people in the stores and we had a good time looking at everything.

Delores and I enjoyed soaking up a few rays while the girls were checking out other things. I miss Delores so bad that I enjoy all the minutes I can get!

A big parade just for our enjoyment. There were alot of people watching the parade.

Here's Sunny, Stephanie and Delores watching the parade. Actually, we were waiting for the stores to open. They had us trapped.
After Shopping and Lunch we picked up Gary and went to Sunny's to pick up Sue to see her new house and head for the Crab Cooker. First we had to check out Sunny and Tom's Wii Fit. We all really enjoyed it; especially after Gary weighed in.
Sunday we went to Jennifer and Brent's house to check out Lilly. I don't know why I don't have pictures of Lilly. She is such a good baby and really a pretty baby too. We took the almost short cut to Palm Springs and drove around to find a restaurant that was closed. Our second option turned out great though and so once again we ate!!!
I left early Monday morning and made it home without hitting much traffic. It was a wondorous Weekend. I loved it!!!!

Al Rounds

A dream come true...
This has been like living a dream for me for the last few months as I have prepared for and anticipated Al Rounds coming to my house.
Thank you to all of you who came.

Al Round is one of those people that you can never get quite enough of. I enjoyed spending time with him and watching him paint or just hearing about all his experiences in painting church history. Having him at the house for two days was just a little piece of heaven for me. I was so excited many of my family and friends could join me. As always, it's almost impossible to get everyone together at the same time in the same space. Those of you that missed the opportunity, I'm sorry you missed it. Al has a beautiful testimony of Jesus Christ and has internalized his dedevotion into making himself a better person dedicated to developing his talent to the fullest and sharing it with the world. He is humble, grateful, talented and spiritual ( What a great combination)! He brought his fiance with him and related that they are going to be married in November in the Salt Lake temple. It was exciting to be a part of the friends and family circle.

When Al was in the second grade, one of the girls in the class pointed to Al during Back-to-School night and said to her mom, "That's the artist in the class." That's when Al began to define himself as an artist. This is Al talking about how he became an artist:

As Al Rounds painted he answered our questions. Tom asked him, "How did you decide to start painting church history?" This was his response:

First Ever Home Football Game at BDHS

Here we are on the almost green football field. After planting the lawn at least 10 times the grass is starting to grow. The cheerleaders were in great form and the football team has won every game this season. Much better than last year's 0 wins. All the rest of the games will be held at Beaver Dam!!!

Here's Steve. Even after a busy Professional Development day he had to cheer on the cheerleaders and the team plus take in a few rays of sunshine!

Here's Sarah with a few of her fans. To make a few extra bucks for the team, they offered face painting up near the high school. I didn't venture up on the hill, but they also sold hamburgers, soda and water. Let's hope they made a few dollars since they had to rent a bleacher from the Mesquite play center.

Notice those wonderful goal posts! Mr. Frei spent many hours starting at 4AM to get them in place. Notice how busy the surrounding area is. I'm sure there weren't any neighbors complaining about the noisy football game.

All in all it was a great game and a nice afternoon to enjoy a football game! Almost as good as when Bryan played football or Sunny was cheerleading!

A Terriffic Weekend!!

Three great friends at breakfast. We started our morning at Village Pancake House. A great breakfast to start our busy day!
Our first stop was RC Willey Furniture Store. Dott was looking for a breakfast set; Karla was looking for a new bed and I was looking for end tables. We couldn't find anything we really liked for the money.
Next we went to Gardner's Village and checked out everything from furniture to dishes and Christmas. Of course we had to eat again!! Karla found some nice dishes; I found some October decorations and a Christmas candle holder and Dott found a snow globe and a kitchen breakfast set. It was a good deal and we couldn't pass it up even though it meant we would have to put it together ourselves. Here's Dott on the loading ramp waiting to finish the load: a table, 4 chairs and a bench.

Sunday we all went to Tremonton for the blessing of cutie pie Seth. He is such a good boy. He doesn't care who has him he's up for all of it. As you can see, he doesn't have the look of a tiny new born. I think Carter and Mason will have to get ready for Seth.

Here we are in Allison's cute living room. She and her mom look so much alike right now it's funny.
And here's Grandma Care with Seth. All the rest of the kids were busy playing. Bryan's house is great for separation of kids and adults. All the kids were super good. I was nervous because of the moats in the front yard from the garage footings but the kids didn't even give them a second glance.
Here is the four generation picture of Stickneys. It is nice that Grandpa still feels good enough to attend all the parties.
Here's Bryan with grandpa. Don't they both look like the party animals? How about the Bryan haircut? Hair or no hair he did a great job of blessing his newest. I was so proud of him!
And here's Randy and Bryan hanging out on the front porch. I think Bryan got his fashion hair cut from Randy. It makes me mad that they get it so easy. Actually, it is a much better hair cut than Bryan's snowboarding picture that makes him look like a convict. I'm just jealous.

All in all it was a completley fantastic weekend!!!!

OK I've been tagged

Here I am sitting outside next to a few of the birdhouses I've made. I'd rather be outside than anywhere! Here is my bedroom; note the papers on the nightstand, (I'm reading Tom's newest novel script!) and the suitcase to the side of the bed ( unpacking from Phoenix and packing for Tremonton) I have a very comfortable bed!
This is one of my closets. I just got back from Phoenix and I'm packing for next weekends trip to Tremonton for the blessing of Seth. I live out of a suitcase.
The kitchen sink doesn't look so bad since I ate out at the Bear Paw this morning and have only been home a few hours!
The fridge is full of I don't know what. Like I said, I haven't been home. Nancy, Dan and Brian are fending for themselves so I hope they know what's in here.
The washroom is a pretty busy place in my house. I love the lizards on the wall and on the door pulls. We have lots of lizards in St. George.
The master bath is Nancy's. I do use the jet tub on occasion but I like my bathroom just fine.
Cute Shoes!!!! I used to like a heel on my shoes but I find I can move faster in flats and I love the red color!
My favorite room is the downstairs tv room! I love my baskets above and my Al Rounds paintings on the walls.
My favorite place in my house is on the balcony. The view is great and it is outside! I'm excited it is cooling down so I can enjoy being outside again.
My favorite vacation spot is anywhere and anytime that I can be there to spend time and help my family and friends. Hopefully I will get increasing amounts of vacation time. Like my brother says, "We want to spend retirement going about doing good!"

So now I guess I pass on the tag to Sarah Stauber and Erika Reyes!

House and Home

Check out the update on the house with the new color.
I need everyone's help! The problem is the crack in the wall. What do you think I can do besides start over??? I'm looking for any ideas.
Also before I left for Phoenix I made a quick trip to Tremonton to visit Seth. Everyone is doing great. Allison is feeling better; Carter is off to kindergarten, Mason is now 3 and Bryan is busy putting up a shed I bought for him. I think next time he may want to come with me when I pick something out. I hope it's done by my next visit.
